It is, for many businesses, coming into a slower time of the year. Many of you have survived what could have been a disastrous 12 months, from last October to today. Congratulations. Well done. Now it is a good time to pay back your biggest business investors: your family!

You spouse or life partner and, if you have them, your kids are quite possibly your businesses biggest investors. If you were to apply a dollar value to the time that your family contributes in help, time lost with you, taking calls, out of the home marketing by family members, you might be shocked to see how many dollars it could add up to. I know my wife is always promoting me and my business endeavours with handing out cards, mentioning my business to her network, emailing friends, posting items on facebook and twitter etc. She is also patient with the amount of time I work to build my business, even when it means she has to pick up the slack around home. She is my biggest booster and for good reason. She stands to gain a lot from my success.

Try to remember them and pay them a dividend of your time when there is a gap in your busy schedule. It could have some impressive paybacks for you too.
